Storage Requirement

1.we have 14Tb data in VMware environment .So I want to take 3 full backups and 6 incremental backups in a month how much storage we require? (Data grow for 1 month arrount 500GB MAX)

 

2.For example we have 14TB data for 1st full backup it takes 14TB of disk space ,how much size for second full backup and third full backup it will take?

 

3.How much time require to write a 1TB data in datadomain  ( Our n/w speed is 10GB ofc cable )?

 

Our Hardware details:

Data domain dd660

Disk HUA721010KLA330 (1TB 7K )

EMC/Datadomain have sizing tools to determine storage requirements.

We cannot tell you because we do not have insight into types of data on your VMs and dedupe rates that will be achieved.

Best to contact your DD reseller.

Backup times will depend on many factors in the environment - read speed from Datastores, NBU backup host config and hardware capabilities, ingest rate on DD, etc.
We really cannot tell....

Like Marianne said, there are many many factors at play here.  Your subsequent backups will depend on how much de-dupe you get out of Data Domain.  I also use DD and we would have different de-dupe rates.  It is not one size fits all.  You'll get a better idea after you do all these backups.
