Hi All,
We have SL8500 tape library in our infrastructure and one of the drive had to be replaced due to hardware issues, we use NBU 7.1.0.4 in our environment.
After replacing the drive the drive is fine at ACSLS level but in NBu it still shows the serial number of old faulty drive that was replaced.
Kindly advise.

First of all, verify that new drive is seen correctly by the OS and that NBU can 'talk' to the drive (via the OS).
Run this command from cmd:
<install-path>\veritas\volmgr\bin\scan
When drive is reported correctly, easiest is to delete the drive from NBU. (Use the GUI, write down drive's ACSLS address before you do.) Allow services to be restarted when prompted.
Run the device config wizard to add the replaced drive. Double-check that ACSLS address is correct.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
1.Check the new tape drive S/No. in SLconsole of SL8500 Library.
2. Remove all the devices from the host and run the below commands.
#/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbemmcmd -deletealldevices -machinename hostname -machinetype media
#/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/scan
#/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -a
go to NBU GUI and Run the device config wizard.
run the command #/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -l

Hello Bshet..
Very first Do check Drive which need to replaced is shared or visible on single host..Note Serial number of Drive and Host where drive is visible.
As you told Drive is visible on library so very first do scan on OS…
run /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -l report_disc This command scans for new hardware and produce a report that shows the new and the replaced hardware.
now tpconf -replace_drive drivename -path drivepath --Make sure drive which you replacing is in down state
Stop and start ltid service,
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/stopltid do check ltid is terminated by vmps command..
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/ltid
If drive is shared do the same on all storage unit..
