Transaction log on SQL 2005

Hello every body,

I have a 2 SQL 2005 Server.
My Media /Backup Server its a windows 2003 R2 SP2 64 bits.

Here is my quesition:

How can I backup sql databases? on Bexec I only had to make a policy and run the backup, but with NBU, I created the bch file, and is working and I can backup my databases but no the transaction log, so, do I need two policies to backup my DBs and my transaction log? or only 1 policy can backup both? if I need 2, the orders matter? this mean do I need to run the transaction log policy first and then the DBs?

Thanks!!!

Hello, you need two different scripts, one for hot DB and one for transaction logs. I run mine out of two differnet policies, I run a full database dump in the morning out of one policy and then I do hourly transaction log backups in another policy during business hours then I do another full that night.

Do you have any problems when these two policies run at the same time? I presume they contend for aceess to files in this case?
