What license keys have been entered on these media servers?
You need Server license (Enterprise Server or Enterprise Client)
Library Based tape drives
Shared Storage Option (SSO)

I used Enterprise Server license for these server and also try with difrent license.
And also recycle the Netbackup Services after adding/removing license key.

License keys seem to be fine on AIX media server drcmlive.
Are all of these drives configured as 'shared' on other media servers?
Please tell us what happens if you run the cmd version of the device config wizard on the master (the difference here is that a timeout can be specified):
Run this command on master:
vmoprcmd -h drcmlive -timeout 3600 -autoconfig -a
06-27-2012 01:15 PM
While configuring the drives using device configuration wizard, it is showing 22 tape drives are configured but after configuration,
vmoprcmd output is showing only one drive.
06-27-2012 01:22 PM
Did you restart ltid after configuring the drives?
06-27-2012 09:04 PM
I have personally experienced problems with the GUI wizard in large environments.
In these cases we chose to use the cmd version. Worked everytime (at various customer installations).
06-27-2012 11:24 PM
I also face this GUI problem while Device Configuration Wizard but i tried also CMD its not worked.
after configration it shows only 1 tape drive configured.

I would be tempted to remove ALL the devices of all the machines and reconfigure everytthing.
I'm thinking something is confused in EMM and the only way you'll fix this is to delete the lot and start again.
1. Sometimes when we see odd problems like this, delteing and re-adding foxes the issue.
2. The problem, is sometimes it doesn't ...
It is one of those times you just have to try it. If it fixes it, that is great, if not, then at least you have eliminated this as a possible cause.
I would run:
nbemmcmd -deletealldevices -allrecords
This will remove ALL tape drives off ALL servers AND all robots.
It is a difficult call to make - you will not see in the logs 'remove all devices and reconfigre' it is just something I know can work.

Hi Marianne ,
If there is somethng preventing in EMM databse to configured shared drives ,So pls let us know which details you want will i provide you.
YES rest of tape drives configured which is shared an working finely.
Hi Martine ,
It is really difficult to remove all tape drive from all server which is already configured.
"nbemmcmd -deletealldevices -allrecords" from this commnad will remove all record which is already configured but how to configured all records in One Single command if you have any command like this then pls let me.
Thanks

If there is something in EMM that is messed up, you are 'probably' not going to find this with the output of any commands, or even by looking in the DB directly.
This is why ...
Here is the devices DB table from my system ...

Martin and I were discussing your issue 'offline' yesterday....
Getting an overview or some sort of insight into the rest of your environment could possibly help us to find out what's wrong here...
Easiest will probably be to log a support call with Symantec and grant the engineer Webex access to your desktop from where GUI access to master could help....
For now, please post output the following:
From the master:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmdareq
From master and/or one or two media servers that are working successfully with all of the drives:
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -l
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmoprcmd -ad
Last 2 commands from one of the new media servers as well, please.

Hi Marianne and Martin ,
I already logged a case with Tech Support but he says there is issue with License but i checked there is no issue with license.
Also he says one of media server SSO license was expired hence the issue will coming to a New server for configuration but when i checked the other media server did't find the any issue with licensing.
Please find the attached out-put from Master as well as from Media Server which is having issue.
Thansk

Hi Marraine,
What will happen after executing the below command.
Is it neccesary to recycle the etbackup services.
Run this command on master:
vmoprcmd -h drcmlive -timeout 3600 -autoconfig -a
07-03-2012 04:25 AM
It should run a device discovery, but wait longer for a response.
