Unable to perform a full backup of master server 7.1.0.4

Hello,

Since i have updated Netbackup 7.0.1 to 7.1.0.4 I cannot perform a full backup of the master/media server.

The server is named apdk9g and is running Windows 2008 R2. This is the media and master server, the error is :

08/08/2012 11:05:44 - Error bpbrm(pid=6000) from client apdk9g: ERR - Volume resolution error for (System State:\Automated System Recovery\BCD\BCD)
08/08/2012 11:05:45 - Info bpbrm(pid=5056) child done, status 156        
08/08/2012 11:05:45 - Info bpbrm(pid=5056) sending message to media manager: STOP BACKUP apdk9g_1344416679    
 

Anybody have an idea to solve my problem ?

Is this a real machine, or virtual ?

Start here ...

1. Are the writes all stable, if not reboot

vssadmin list providers

vssadmin list writers

Vshadow is a Microsoft utility used to test VSS. This is helpful in determining any issues with VSS outside of Tivoli Storage Manager.

Vshadow can be downloaded here ...

It will test VSS outside of NBU.

If it still appears that it is NBU, then log in the bpfis log from client. (other logs may be required, but start with bpfis)

Hello,

It's a real machine

1. All writers are stable

2. No error using vshadow but i don't know how to enable ASR Writer. By default this writer is not use :

- Component '\BCD\BCD' from writer 'ASR Writer' is excluded from backup (it requires  in the shadow set)
Discover all excluded components ...
Discover excluded writers ...
- The writer 'System Writer' is now entirely excluded from the backup:
  (it does not contain any components that can be potentially included in the backup)
- The writer 'ASR Writer' is now entirely excluded from the backup:
  (the top-level non-selectable component '\BCD\BCD' is an excluded component)

3. I have checked all listed causes and no one is helpful

4. bpfis log show :

I have give "read and write" rights to folder "D:\Veritas\NetBackup\online_util\fi_cntl\" for users, set explicit usage of VSS for the client and put administrator as account for Netbackup Client service and no change.

Enabling uefi partition using this command solved my problem :

 <install_path>\Veritas\netbackup\bin>w2koption -backup -efi_boot_enabled 1
