Unable to stop Tape Duplication job.

Hi,

I have a problem with my NBU Master server, before it is running on SLP, backup to MSDP then duplicate to tape simultaneously. I didn't notice that my tapes are already full so the duplication job failed with status code of 96. The new tapes are still in transit so I have to disable tape duplication for the mean time. What I did is to change from SLP to direct STU, meaning switch from SLP to direct to disk STU. Backup jobs to STU is successful but the problem is the duplication job is still executing daily, I tink its per hour, the duplication runs per hour daily with error code of 96. I have 6 policies using this SLP before but already switched them all to STU disk storage backup only.

Tried reseting Netbackup services and even restart NBU master and media servers but duplication error still occurs.

OS : Windows Server 2008 R2

NBU : NetBackup 7.1

SLP Parameters:

MIN_GB_SIZE_PER_DUPLICATION_JOB 8
MAX_GB_SIZE_PER_DUPLICATION_JOB 25
MAX_MINUTES_TIL_FORCE_SMALL_DUPLICATION_JOB 240
IMAGE_EXTENDED_RETRY_PERIOD_IN_HOURS 2
DUPLICATION_SESSION_INTERVAL_MINUTES 60

Thank you very much in advance.

You can suspend SLP duplications with:

nbstlutil inactive -lifecycle <SLP-name>

Hi Ms. Marriane,

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Tried to run the script you provided, so far no errors encountered, will have to observe if duplication still occurs.

Thank you.

Great stuff!

Just remember to activate the SLP once you have added more tapes.
