VM jobs not completing after upgrade from VCB to vAPI (6.5 to 7.1.0.3)

Hi, I have upgraded from netbackup 6.5 to 7.1.0.3 and my old VCB backups have been migrated to storage API backups. Most VM backups are working successfully but each night since the upgrade there are approx 8 VM backup jobs still Active. The jobs have been running for over 12 hours and I have to stop the manually.

The active jobs are not the same VMs each morning. The VM job that was active this morning worked the day before.

In most cases the VM data has actually backed up successfully but the initiating job has not closed.

Are there any known issues with 7.1.0.3 that cause this situation?

Might as well go to 7.1.0.4 if you can..

This submission tries to fix orphaned snapshot issues for virtual machines:

■ It attempts snapshot consolidation.

■ It provides a registry entry so that the bpfis process will wait before

VMware snapshot removal as per the registry setting. That is helpful in

cases where disk release takes considerable time.

■ It provides a wait facility in the bpfis -delete process when it gets called,

although bpbkar is still in progress. The wait can be controlled by registry

entry and will help to control orphaned snapshots.

Worth the upgrade. At least on the master and vmware backup proxy.
