Hi all
I have a number of Virtual machines running windows 2008 and all have DFSR in place, I have installed the 7.5.0.5 client. The master server is running Windows 2008 running 7.5.0.5.
The simplist way I an see to back this up is use the policy type of VMWARE and do backup, I have run a few tests and it all seems to work, restores appear to work and all the necessray files are abcked up.
My quesiotn is, is this the most approrpiate way to backup this scenario or are there some issues I need to be aware of?
any advice welcome.

Seems not many Connect users are using DFSR in virtual environments...
If VMware policy is working well for you and restores have been tested, it is probably best to stick with this method.
Symantec has published this TN that seems to be for physical DFSR clients:
Backup and Restore of Microsoft DFSR data using Symantec NetBackup
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO65638
Depending if you have a small or medium to large DFSR environment (see above TN), you may want to test methods suggested in the TN as well and then decide what works best for you.
