I have a Netbackup Master server version 6.5.4. Its running on a windows 2008 64bit standard server.
I am trying to install a Media server on an identical server. I have the standard Netbackup license that I give it at the install and it installs but it has all sorts of issues.
First issue most of the services will not start and it cannot talk to the master server.
Is the reason this is not working that I dont have an Enterprise Client License?
I actually have installed and uninstalled it a few times. On one try I got the master server to see it if I gave it the local admin account credentials but the media server still would not start most of the services and it all but locked up the master server untill I uninstalled it.
You are correct - you need Enterprise license to add media server(s).
NetBackup Server supports 2 Tiers - Server & Client.
NetBackup Enterprise Server supports 3 Tiers - Master Server, Media Server, & Client
Okay, So I need to buy an enterprise client license for the media server thats it or do I need an additional license for the master server to promote it?
