Hi Agent7,
Adding to wr note,
The Fromat will be as OSversion without any space. If you try to include space, netbackup will neglect it.
You can confirm this by below command.(\ is escape sequence)
bpplclients policyname -modify hostname -os Windows\ 2003.
The command will complete successfully. But when you list the client the hostanme will show only windows.

i already done this one..it show only windows..
i try to use windows_server_2003. but i think this is not good..
is there any ways?

Windows_Server_2003 & not Windows2003?
Windows2003 is the operating system selection for Windows Server 2003 as Windows2008 is used for Windows Server 2008 etc etc. Personally, I do not see the need for this to also say "Server", but ...
To list the possible hardware/os combinations run:
bppllist -hwos

here is the results
Why Windows server 2003 is not listed?
is that ok to use windows2000, even if my server is 2003?
"PC Windows2000

What version of NetBackup & OS for master server?
07-25-2012 06:47 AM
I think Andy is on to something. You must have NBU version that came out before 2003 based on
bppllist results.

but you *can* manually add them if running on a *NIX platform. Came across this myself a loooong time ago, plus:

and a few other posts:

-the latter 2 making me ask the question about the masters os.

Netbackup is 6.0 and O.S is 2003 Standard.

& just to add to the confusion, when you look at the NB 6.x OS CL it states that the Client Selection for Windows Server 2003 (whichever 'flavour') is "hardware, Windows Server 2003".
Was this ever upgraded from 5.x or earlier? Was wondering whether the client binaries were never upgraded altho' I don't see how, but it's been such a long time since I went through that process.......
..... talking of upgrading ..... EOSL for 6.x very soon ;)
