buffer size and number

My servers had their SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS & NUMBER_DATA_BUFFERS set years ago (before I ever used NBU).  I have some media servers set at 131072 for size and 32 for numbers, I also have some newer ones with no files, so they are using the defaults.  I'd forgotten about these two files until I had to add one for NDMP timeout problems.

These are all big win2k3 servers with >=4GB RAM running 6.5.0.   Are these good numbers?

Thanks

Chris,
You will need to test on your environment. Get your benchmark and then make changes and monitor results in the bptm file.

PLEASE, remember to test restores after making changes.

Chris, I agree with Bob.  I strongly suggest that you confirm that you can restore from media that was written before *AND* after any tuning changes - I can confirm that "once bitten, twice shy" is applicable to NetBackup buffer tuning, especially when messing with SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS.
