we are taking hot catalog backups. under one parent job there are 5 chaild jobs are running. 3 child jobs are successfully completed but 2 jobs are failed with status 2 and 84 everyday.

how did you trigger the catalog backup though Vault?
catalog backup does not tirgger 5 jobs..
please post the detail status of the failed jobs..

As per above requests - start by copying all text in Details tab of failed jobs and post here.

The error is clear:
Error bptm(pid=6164) cannot write image to media id A00123, drive index 0, The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
Try to provide a new, unused tape.
