NetBackup Realtime seemed like a good idea, but has unfortunately been EOL'ed...
All I can think is regular snapshots using Array or Storage Foundation snapshots with NBU Enterprise Client.

This wasn't the original question but RT 7.x will be supported through 2017:
But currently I have not heard if there will be any new releases beyond 7.1.1.
