i am concerned whether it runs automatically ?can we change the frequency of image cleanup?

The cleanup interval can be changed via:

NetBackup GUI -> Host Properties -> Master Servers > Master_server_name > Image Cleanup

You can change the setting here.

Why do you think it is not running - it runs every 12 hrs by default.

Unless there is a problem for 100% you should not just start changing setting.  Running the cleanup too often can put a  load on the server and in a busy system, coould cause other issues.

Unless there is an issue, leave it alone.
