Always there is no requirement of upgrading NB client software inside SRT; until and unless some fix/es gone into NB client which is essential while BMR restore process. For example, bprestore.exe (who triggers restore needs to be upgraded or bmrrst.exe, heart of bmr restore is upgraded etc.)
Better practise is to upgrade SRT (especially when you are upgrading setup from minor version to major version) to avoid any surprises.
thanks.

Yes, SRT is created for a specific NBU client version. Good practice is to add OS and NBU version as part of SRT name.
You need to create a new SRT after NBU upgrade.
See following extract from NetBackup Bare Metal Restore Administrator's Guide http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5163 :
About shared resource trees
A shared resource tree (SRT) is a collection of the following:
■ Operating system files
■ NetBackup client software
■ Programs that format drives, create partitions, rebuild file systems, and restore the original files using the NetBackup client software
An SRT also provides the resources that are needed to boot the client system and begin the restore process...

what is the benefit !! No changes happen in the OS, they still same this mean that the SRT contain the same:
Operating system files
■ NetBackup client software
■ Programs that format drives, create partitions, rebuild file systems, and restore the original files using the NetBackup client software
please advice

The basic principle is that your old SRT will have NetBackup 7.1 client inside (or earlier?) and the new one would have the 7.5 client inside
In most cases it will make little difference but it is always best practice for clients to be on the same version as the Master and Media Servers.
