library being replaced

hello
Netbackup 6.0, MP4, Windows 2003, MSL 5000 Library
Due to a bit of plastic falling off inside our library, the shuttle keeps jamming
The library is to be repalced, hardware engineer will rack up a replacement library, and move our drives from the existing library into this one
Is it best to delete all storage units and recreate them? or will netbackup automatically pick up the new library without any problems...

cheers

Connect the new lib. to the master server & confirm whether its detected in Device manager.
Update the drivers with Veritas drivers.

Re-configure the storage devices, which will detect the new drives.

the drives will move into the new library, but will just run the device config wizards on alll media servers, should be ok

If these are SCSI drives and you are connecting in same way as on existing library then you do not need to do much except running scan to make sure you see all the devices. But if you are changing the order of drives or changing the cable connections then you need to delete existing devices from NetBackup/OS and configure these again.

If your drives are Fiber attached and so is your changer then you need to make sure that every drive and chager has same WWNN/WWPN what it originally has, if there are any changes you will have to update persistent binding( if you are using).
