hi, my master and media servers are all windows running NB 7.1. i'm trying to update windows 2003 x86 servers with 7.0.1 installed to NB 7.1 but they are not upgrading although the job ends with status 0. can anyone advise on what i can look for?

The LiveUpdate guide says:
Note: NetBackup LiveUpdate cannot update servers to a major or a minor
release version of NetBackup. If you try to use NetBackup LiveUpdate to update
a server to a major or a minor release, the upgrade fails. Windows systems
display an error message. On UNIX systems, the attempt appears to be
successful even though the updates were not applied.
7.1 is a minor release.
You're not getting an error, so I suspect there's probably also something else going on there (7.1 LU files missing/not copied onto the LU server?) in addition to this, but I'm not sure troubleshooting this is going to help you if you're not supposed to be using LU with 7.1 servers.

Any solution on this? I'm having the same issue with trying to update my Windows 2003 x86/x64 clients via LiveUpdate. My master and media servers are on 7.1.0.2 and are all running Windows 2008 R2. It returns a status of 0 but in the "LiveUpdate" log that I created on the client, it says indicates that it can't find the file that it needs. I've verifed that it can browse to the LiveUpdate server and see the file list. My Windows 2008 R2 and Red Hat 2.6 clients are updating correctly through the same policy.
I have opened a support case with Symantec and they've advised me to create two separate directories for the live updates, 1 for 7.1 and another for 7.1.0.2, then pointing the client to the 7.1 directory first. I don't have great confidence that this will resolve it as I originally had just the 7.1 client files in my LU repository, but will let you know how it goes.
