Hi,
I have a master server netbackup 6.5.
I would migrate this master server to new hardware (virtual, now is physical) with different ip address and different hostname.
Which is the procedure?
1) install a new red hat
2) install netbackup (same versioni, and same patch level)
3) restore catalog backup?
thanks
Tony

It is not supported to change hostnames on a Master server or to move from Windows to Unix for example. You would have to engage professional services to assist with migrating.
Please read this Technical Article: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH31385

You cannot change hostname unless you get assistance from a Symantec Cunsulting Partner.
See :
How to migrate the NetBackup catalog information from one platform to another (UNIX to Windows or vice versa), rename a Master Server, cluster an existing Master Server, or merge multiple NetBackup domains.

One more thing -
Please take note of supported options in this doc:

Yes. Same hostname, different IP address is very easy to migrate. See TECH77448 for details.
Please read through the Virtual support doc as well before you make a final decision about virtual master server.
