Hi Everyone,
We have an ongoing HW refresh project, need to move from old environment to new one.
Old:
1 Windows 2003 R2 enterprise edition SP2; Netbackup 7.1.0.3; IBM TS3200 tape library
New:
Windows 2012; Netbackup 7.6; DataDomain 2500
New „A” and „B” datacenters.
A: 1 Master server, 1 media server
B: 1 failover master server, 1 media server
My question:
thanks
Gergely

Firstly - migration to NBU 7.6 and W2012 needs to be a 2-step process.
NBU 7.6 no longer supports W2003 as master server and W2012 is only supported as master as from NBU 7.6.
This TN can therefore not be used for a 1-step migration: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH77447
You will have to provision a W2008 server with NBU 7.1.0.3 to migrate to, then upgrade to 7.6.0.1.
You will now be able to migrate to W2012 server. Follow steps in above TN for 2-step migration.
About your reference to 'failover master' - do you want to cluster the master server?
If so, please note that only brand-new master server can be clustered.
To convert a current standalone master to cluster, you need a consultant: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH31385
You may want to consider AIR to replicate DD images to remote master.
To copy tape data to DD, you will need to start a lengthy process to duplicate all backups to DD.

By catalog backup/recovery, but there are some caveats when changing from one to two master. Probably still need to be done by somebody certified by Symantec to do catalog manipulation.
Possibilities for master server(s) at two sites are clustered master and Auto Image Replication, depending on what you want to accomplish and the distance between the sites. From your description I guess you want a clustered master.
Duplication the way to move data from tapes to new storage media
