it is the thumb rule to have 10% of the original size of the volume not the double the size of the drive/volume.,

Snapshots are a point-in-time view of a source volume. NetBackup uses snapshots to access busy or active files during a backup job. Without a snapshot provider, active files are not accessible for backup.

@Manjunath:Whole drive snapshot is created?

I mean If I have 30 GB of D drive,Then Snapshot of 30 Gb (D') is also created during backup?

Hi, If the drive is 30GB then it will take snapshot of entire drive and its backs up later it will discard and continues to take another drive backup if more than one drive if you specified.

@Manjunath : so space must be 60 GB on D drive?

Hi, Always sufficient space should be there for snapshot backup.

snapshot and backup will happen sequentially, once backup is done snapshot will be deleted.

That means 60 GB  should be the space of D drive

It depends how much data changes.

Snapshots are not backups, if I have data on my disk and make a copy-on-write snapshot, it is 'instant, and no extra space is required, until I make a change to the data.

If you google for how snapshots work you will find some good explanations.
