Setup:
Windows 2003R2, Netbackup v6.5, Freshly installed.
Quantum Superloader 3 (DLT2), connected via a SCSI cabel.

My Question :
I have a bunch of tapes with barcodes ABDxxx,
Netbackup re-named a tape to A00001 for the first backup job, Since A00001 where full all other jobs ended with status 96

(Error nbjm(pid=1832) NBU status: 96, EMM status: No media is available unable to allocate new media for backup, storage unit has none available(96)

”available_media.cmd” shows all the tapes in my robot, even the 2 tapes I placed in my ’Scratch’ pool, all –except for the A00001 tape have the AVAILABLE ’stamp’
”vmquery” see the tapes too, BUT ”bpmedialist” only sees the A00001 tape.

How do I get Netbackup to see and use all the other tapes in my robot
preferable with the ABDxxx barcodes

Try a
\veritas\volmgr\bin\vmquery -m <Media_ID>
on one of the tapes reporting a 96
and see if it has a expiration date
( this is not the backup image expiration date,
it is the physical tape expiration date)

Please let me know what you find

*!_#% I just lost half the text..Anyway

It looks like Netbackup are looking for/or can't find  a wrong mediaserver.
I have the Mediaserver on the same PC as the Masterver (pc-it-backup)
My first backup ran successfully with a  mediaserver called 'NONE'
or it could it  be
a DLT/DLT2 format issue?, as Netbackup sees new tapes as DLT - I have to delete them and then
via the inventory specify them as DLT2 before re-adding them via running a new Inventory ??

Regards..
