Failed to reserve a majority of disks in cluster dynamic disk group

Hello,

i have the following configuration:

two IBM x3650 servers  running Windows Server 2003 SP1

shared IBM DS4700 storage. Host Type Windows clustered AVT/ADT disabled.  

I've installed VCS + Volume manager v4.3 for Windows with DDI5 as multipathing. Than everything work for a week. After that suddenly I've got the following error: "Error: V-76-58645-585 Failed to reserve a majority of disks in cluster dynamic disk group" and ever since disk groups cannot be imported by hosts. I've tried everything already with SCSI3 reservation:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vibmaads\Parameters]
"SupportSCSI3"=dword:00000001

I can't figure out what that can be.

Please help !!!

I have the same system configuration and got the same problem (installation works fine, system was running for a few weeks and now it can not import the disk groups anymore :(

did you get any answer from somebody? Or do you know any solution?

I need help as son as possible (it's a production system)

Hello to everyone,

i don't know what happend to this system and cannot also explain such a weird behavior of IBM DS4700. But I can post here solution that helped me and can help somebody else too.

So, the solution as simple as weird too:

All you need to do is just unmap luns in StoragManger and then map them again to another IDs:)

before

lun1  - scsi id 1

lun2  - scsi id 2 

after

lun1  - scsi id 3

lun2  - scsi id 4

then the problem is gone.
