Importing disk group from a snapshot

Hello,

I have the following question:

We have SFoundation 4.1, solaris 10, and a snapshot functionality at storage level (Sun storagetek Data Snapshot).

The snapshot creates a disk group physically identical to the the original (production) disk group, Storage foundation see this group as the same name (disk group name, volume name, etc). We import this volume group on another host without problems.

Are we able to import the snapshot disk group in the same host where the disk group original resides?.

Hi, with SF 4.1 it is not possible to import the same diskgroup twice. a workaround would be to import the 2. diskgroup on another host and rename it. wih sf 5.0 there is a new flag called udid. with this features, it is possible tom import a cloned diskgroup on the same host. for more details, just take a look at the admin guide. greets Björn
