Hi all,
I have been trying to install the Storage Foundation on a Solaris box. Running ./installer from the DVD gives me quickly the following error message, 3 repeated lines:
./installer: ./perl/SunOS/perl/bin/perl: cannot execute
./installer: ./perl/SunOS/perl/bin/perl: cannot execute
./installer: ./perl/SunOS/perl/bin/perl: cannot execute
After installing Solaris I updated it and and installed the compainon programs. I also compiled and installed perl 5.8.8.
Does anyone have a clue on what the problem is?
Best regards

Thanks for the quick reply, from reading some of the other posts, I had already installed from the DVD, the VRTSperl.tar.gz package, which when I do a pkginfo -i, shows up as installed...I did also try and include in my .profile a path to include /opt/VRTSperl:/opt/VRTSperl/lib/perl 5.8.8 as well...just in case...and still I get the same error as you did.
Any of ideas.

sukhi,
this dvd is a Veritas software for 64-bit Intel platform (x64_x86) and you have Sparc :)
