While trying to create Root disk encapsulation getting the error message
vxvm ERROR V-5-2-338
the encapsulation operation failed with the following error: VXVM vxencap ERROR V-5-2-4159
Disk c1t0d0 is a root disk; Disk cannot be encapsulted.
Disk c1t0d0 format s none specified.
How can we make encapsulation happen in this scenario?

Please use vxdiskadm (option 2) rather than vxencap.
Procedure for 4.1 is the same as 5.1:
http://sfdoccentral.symantec.com/sf/5.1/solaris/html/vxvm_admin/ch03s13.htm
Please see if this TN applies to your environment: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH47330
