Some business environments may require a cluster setup that supports application high availability with differentiated configurations in the same cluster. For example, some applications in the cluster may need high availability with or without dependency on databases. And, some applications may require high availability with support for clustered databases. In such scenarios, you may want to consider a mixed configuration of Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC (SF Oracle RAC) and Storage Foundation Cluster File System High Availability (SFCFSHA) in your environment.
In mixed configurations, nodes with applications that require high availability can be configured to run SFCFSHA while nodes with applications that require clustered databases can be configured to run SF Oracle RAC.
