Can BERS8 Restore a LSR3 Image?

Hi - I am planning for a hardware upgrade of a server which is currently being imaged every 4 hours by LiveState Recovery Stand Server 3.

We need to replace the hardware soon, and were wondering if BESR8 can restore an existing LSR3 image or does BESR8 only restore from BE12 images?

Your help is appreciated.

Greg.

No, the Restore Anyware option, that which gets invoked to 'retarget' a system from one hardware platform to another,  was not available within the Symantec LiveState Recovery Standard Server 3.0x product series and so will not be able to be called using a Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) v8.0x Restore CD.

BESR creates *.v2i recovery point images based on the used sectors on the drives it is instructed to backup. These image files are vastly different then those created by BE alone and so BESR is unable to restore BE images as well.
