Having install problems on old Livestate 6.x

Seems that something gets messed up on a computer and after trying to uninstall and reinstall I get the following message...

"the data necessary to complete this operation is not yet available"

when I try to open "RUN LIVESTATE RECOVERY MANAGEMENT CONSOLE" from the tool bar next to the system time.

The error message is similar to what I googled on the net relating to JAVA, so I have uninstalled that too, then re-installed.  No luck.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Dot Net Framework 1.1, then reinstalled Livestate afterwards.

Ultimately the workstation never connects the the LSRM console so I can't set up a backup job.  Is there something else I should delete or clean up?  I have even used REVO Uninstaller to remove LSR and this hasn't fixed the problem either.  So it looks like there is some kind of Windows communication problem.

I'm using WinXP with SP3.  I can successfully manage the 75 or so other workstations.  I have the above problem now on 3 or 4 systems.

Thanks for any help...Jake

Here are release details for LSR 6.0x is http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=releasedetails&key=52041 ; depending upon your contract you may still recieve support. I would consider using the manual uninstall document herelocated here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH55097 on there 3 or 4 systems then attempt a standalone install.
