Hi,
I have been using BESR and now SSR for some years, mainly for desktop recovery, and have never had a problem with recovery for a crahsed system drive - until now.
I installed a new Seagate Momentus XT 750Gb 2.5" disk in my Dell M4500 to replace a failing system drive (500Gb Seagate). This disk is a Hybrid disk with an 8Gb SSD cache allied to a 750Gb 7200rpm disk - they appear as a single disk device to windows with the SSD component optimised to mainly reduce boot time and possibily improve application performance.
As in previous occaisions I booted from the SRD CD, selected my recovery point (verified before restore) and everything went fine until a short time into the recovery when it failed with a disk write error.
I believe the problem is hardware related as the disk no longer reports into the BIOS but before I return the disk i wanted to see if there is any know issue with SSR2011 using hybrid disks or if anyone else has tried this successfully.
Thanks
Dave
