Stand alone v2i to vhd conversion tool?

I actually replied to a different thread (in the wrong forum location.)

I would like to automate the creation of vhd files to save time in creating virtual servers for testing and disaster recovery.

If there was a stand alone tool for doing this conversion, then I could at least take the v2i files on an external USB hard disk and create the vhd files on my Virtual PC server without having to use a SRD.  This would be helpful in disaster recovery where my System Recovery console would not be immediately available to the conversion.  As it is, the coversion takes quite a bit of time so the automation or a command line script would really be nice.

You may want to look at Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery User's Guide; Managing backup destinations: Converting a recovery point to a virtual disk format page 138

At this time Symantec Technical Support does not have example scripts (outside those offered on the product CD for other imaging tasks) to directly automation recovery point images (i.e. *.V2i) to MS Virtual Server files (i.e. *.VHD) or Vmware files (i.e. *.VMDK).

If you feel this issue has a direct business impact for you and your continued use of the product, please contact your Symantec Sales representative or the Symantec Sales group to discuss these concerns. For information on how to contact Symantec Sales, please see http://www.symantec.com/business/contact_sales.jsp they will also assist in contact professional services, a unit of Symantec who may be able to assist you in your scripting needs at the present time.
