Using Symantec System Restore to backup vmware esxi on RAID-1 error

I've been trying to use SSR restore disk to backup my vmware esxi 4.1 partitions.  I get the RAID drive loaded and I can see the hypervisor partitions but every time I go to backup, the wizard comes up and I get an error that says "Exception Unknown Software exception (0xc0000417) occurred in the application at location 0x008557c3 "

I am using the SSR 2011 Recovery disk.   My goal is to get images of my partitions as a whole.

Are you able to restore the recovery point to a different drive; even to a test system?

You may want to review the Software Compatibility List (SCL) and the Linux guide (SSR-L) located here: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH75692, on the limits of supportability of this product in your environment as well as maybe options you have not tried yet to get this restore done successfully.
