Vista Ultimate and System Restore

I have a desktop with a flaky motherboard. I'm tired of fighting with the system and will be installing a new motherboard into the system. I have not yet used BESR (I have version 8.5) and was wondering what to expect.

All other hardware will be the same in the system, just swapping out the motherboard. I have created the backup (on a USB hard drive) and have the system restore boot disk. Anything else I should be aware of?

I would suggest you create a custom SRD, "Create a Recovery Disk", this way you have the correct drivers for your hardware; then use this disk to perform your recovery.

Creating a Custom SRD is an unneeded step unless you are using a hardware RAID or are hosting the image on the network.

You will, however, need to perform a Restore Anyware restore. Be advised that if you are using an OEM version of Windows, replacing the Motherboard may require you to re-register the OS, and possibly require a new license.
