Why is XP Sp2 a requirement for BESR 7.0?

Hello,

Just wondering out of curiosity why XP Sp2 was a "requirement" for Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0? I had spec'd out the previous version for our environment which did not have this and when trying to purchase was informed that 7.0 (at the time) was the latest version available, so we went with that thinking that the requirements would be the same, it is currently deployed on about 86 XP Sp1 machines and seems to run fine, just curious if I am missing out on not having Sp2 or if I will encounter problems in the future.

These are lab instrument control systems and some cannot be upgraded, thanks.

Hello,

I believe Windows XP SP2 is the version against which BESR 7.0 was officially qualified.  It is very likely that it will work just fine on Windows XP SP0 and SP1.  As long ast .NET 2.0 will install.

Thanks.
