problem with BESR Recovery Disk not finding the RAID controller

Hi,

We just created a custom recovery disk for a Proliant DL360 G1, but the only component that was found was the network card.  So we can see the network and retrieve an IP address from the DHCP server, but we cannot see any local disks to restore the image on.   In other words, the raid controller drivers are apparantly not loaded.

When we boot with our 'old' 6.5 recovery disk, the raid controller *IS* found and we can see the disks, but it appears that 6.5 cannot restore an image created with 7.0.

Bottomline:  we need a 7.0 custom recovery disk loading the correct Raid Controller drivers of our Compaq Proliant DL360 G1, just as the 6.5 boot cd did.

How can we manage this?

Many thanks,
BR /Kris

Hi kvdv,

Here is the Symantec Technote on How to create a customer Symantec Recovery CD.

The RAID Controller drivers may also be loaded once in the BESR 7.0 Recovery Environment.  On the Home tab select Load a Driver.  Point to the RAID Controller driver and load.
NOTE: BESR 7.0x requires Vista or Vista compatible drivers.  Not all XP/2003 drivers are Vista compatible.  Check with the hardware manufacturer for compatible drivers
Good Luck,
