I have a dell server.
When i start to make a recovery point after a few minutes , i got a messages from
de raid contoler.
One or more of the harddisk's is offline. The performance of the server goes to zero.
After a reboot the raid controlles starts to rebuild this takes almost 24 houres.
I have tried almost everything.
What is the problem???

The raid configuration is raid 5, with 4 harddisks each 146 GB SATA.
I make the recovery point to an extrenal harddisk using the usb port.

I have a whitebox server with a similar configuration to yours, only with 5 SCSI drives. BESR works, but I had a LOT of problems initially getting it into the system (Server 2K3) without crashes and errors. I originally had a PATA drive set to backup internally throughout the day, but it was causing errors of it's own. I removed the drive, which straightened a few things out. I'm thinking the power draw was a little too much for the supply.

Try disconnecting some 'other' internal peripherals in the server, like CD/DVD drives, and try it then.
