system recovery 8.5 crashes

System recovery 8.5.5.33937 keeps on failing during backups and show this error in the event id 100

Faulting application VProSvc.exe, version 8.5.5.33937, time stamp 0x4a49634f, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a783, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000aada3, process id 0x1b88, application start time 0x01ca556003ec56b1.

we have uninstalled and reinstalled, and continue to receive the errors

We have the exact same problem with the exact same error message WITS. We also believe that it is responsible for unexplained reboots of our Windows 2003 server once or twice a month, even though it doesn't happen at the time of these error messages. Unfortunately, we have no solution and were hoping to find one when we saw your posting.

I have updated this TechNote today (new version has not been published yet). Do you see an entry in the application event log (id 1000) that mentions vprosvc.exe and ntdll.dll?

This does not fix the issue by restarting the services, we are being forced to reboot the server

I've te same problem.
I create this script, and i create a schedule task, just before th BESR jobs run


net stop "Backup Exec System Recovery"
taskkill /IM VProSvc.exe /F
taskkill /IM vprotray.exe /F
net start "Backup Exec System Recovery"


And all is OK
