Veritas is excited to be returning to GITEX Global 2022. This is our first time back since the pandemic, and we are looking forward to showcasing to more than 100,000 attendees from over 170 countries on how Veritas is leading the industry in supporting enterprises with multi-cloud data management.
COVID-19 has triggered a seismic shift in the way enterprises worldwide work; empowering teams to operate remotely has accelerated cloud adoption. Increasingly, enterprises have implemented hybrid strategies which combine on-premises resources with services from multiple public cloud providers and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications. This is the multi-cloud. It is transformational, but there are significant issues in running operations securely, compliantly and within budget. At GITEX 2022 we will have data management experts on hand to address the most common challenges enterprises are facing today:
Cyber security and ransomware
Did you know there were a record 19 cyber security attacks per second in 2021? That is more than 623.3 million globally. Unfortunately, that trend is continuing in 2022, with malware attacks up by 11%, intrusion attempts are up by 19% and encrypted threats rising by 132% according to the according to the SonicWall Cyber Threat Report 2022.
Cyber criminals are becoming more sophisticated, and cloud is now the most common attack vector. Cloud-native capabilities are not robust enough to protect data and systems from today’s threats. Only a multi-layered security strategy can safeguard data and bring true operational resilience.
Enterprises are drowning in vast amounts of data, structured and unstructured, and often duplicated. This has been exacerbated by the explosion of remote working. Messaging apps and collaboration tools like Zoom and Teams not only create huge quantities of extra data, but they also raise the risk of a data breach due to employee error or misuse.
According to Veritas research, 58% of senior IT leaders do not have a clear picture of either their organisation’s data footprint, or what technology it has introduced since COVID-19 hit in 2020. This significantly increases the risk of non-compliance.
Costs and complexity
According to Gartner, many organisations make significant mistakes in cloud deployments and by 2024, 80% of those with ineffective cloud adoption procedures will overspend by 20-50%. Enterprises need a streamlined, unified data management system across all operating environments.
Many CEOs believe that sustainability issues are important to the future success of their businesses. However, cost can be a barrier to change, and it can be difficult to understand the environmental impact of cloud services. Improving backup strategies, migrating critical applications and data to the cloud, and eliminating non-relevant data are all key to reducing the carbon footprint.
Are some or all of these challenges a concern to your organisation? We would be delighted to discuss them with you and help close the gaps in your digital transformation strategy and provide you what other data management solutions cannot: flexibility and scalability, simplicity, certainty, insight, and resilience.
