I'm running Backup Exec 10.1d with sp1 on a windows 2003 server. My problem seems to be that I cannot restore the system state to any servers that are running 2003 server. I can restore anything else just not the system state. I can restore the system state to the servers running 2000. When I attempt to restore the system state the Job Engine service stops almost immediately. I get no error box (dr watson). The only thing I see in the event logs is Job Engine service terminated unexpectedly. That's it!
Any suggestions as to why I cannot restore the system state on 2003 server?
-- Is this a Intelliegent Disaster recovery ? or you are manually restoring this server ? -- Is it local or remote Server ? -- Is this a Domain Controller or a member server ? -- Is any Databaser running on it ? -- Was the Backup Job successful and without any error ?
Update us on the same and revert for any further Query
-- Is this a Intelliegent Disaster recovery ? or you are manually restoring? manual restore
-- Is it local or remote Server ? on the same network
-- Is this a Domain Controller or a member server ? standalone member
-- Is any Databaser running on it ? some do some do not. this doesn't seem to effect it since i cannot restore the system state to any 2003 server, with or without a database on the target sever.
-- Was the Backup Job successful and without any error ? backup job was successful. no errors.
It seems the job engine service stops, so the restore does not work. When this happends, what is the error in the job log? Check the application event log again and let us know the exact error alongwith the error id when this happens.
What account are you using for the restore job? Make sure that it has admin rights.
