9.1 to 10d - Backup speeds from 700mb a minute to 5mb a minute.

I see a lot of threads about backup speed dropping drastically when upgrading to 10d. My upgrade from 9.1 was seemless, until I tried a backup. I went from 700mb a minute to 5mb a minute in speed. I cannot find anything on this forum to help me out.

ADIC Scalar 100 attached to SAN via Fiber, Emulex LP9000, also using Intel 1000 MT NIC.

Any ideas before I call support tomorrow morning all the while trying to avoid my boss so I do not have to tell him why I didn't get a backup last night?

installed Intel NIC driver and it is back to normal, speeds upwards of 900mb a minutes.

But this leads to another question. I have the SAN add on, so why is it not backing up through the Fiber if they are zoned properly? Why does it need to use the NIC? It is connected to the SAN and ADIC through the Fiber, but it is not using it apparently.
