A harware error occurred

I am using BackUp Exec 10.0 for Windows Server 2003. I have the Replication Exec Console also. I have a backup set for each day of the week. I am not using the typical (Daily Backup, Weekly Backup). I have set day by day. Well some days will run fine and the other days won't work at all. I get this message on the days that don't work. "V-79-57344-34029- A hardware error occurred. 0xe00084ed. I just upgraded the firmware of the device and that didn't take care of the problem. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

Please check whether the device is listed as "tested" in HCL.

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers Standalone Drives Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)

http://support.veritas.com/docs/274347

Backup Exec 10.0 for Windows Servers Robotic Library Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) (includes tested drives)

http://support.veritas.com/docs/274348

If the device is listed as " tested" you may install the latest the latest Veritas drivers from here:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0 - Device Driver Installer (20050315) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20050115) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only)

http://support.veritas.com/docs/275676

Check whether Event ids 7,9, 11 or 15 logged in the System log.

These generally indicate a hardware problem.

Hope it helps.
