Adaptec USB2xchange

We're trying to use an external SCSI tape drive on a machine with no SCSI card, using the Adaptec USB2xchange product. The OS (we've tried this on two machines, one with XP and one with Server 2003) will see the tape drive, but Backup Exec doesn't seem to see it. Is it possible to use this USB-to-SCSI adapter with Backup Exec 9.0? If so, what are we doing wrong?

Hi,

Please explain us in detail as you hav mentioned here : "We're trying to use an external SCSI tape drive on a machine with no SCSI card, using the Adaptec USB2xchange product."

If you are not at the latest build of Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers
revision 4691, we would suggest you download and install it using the
following technotes:

# BEWS 9.1 is a free downloadable upgrade inclusive of previously installed
agents and options from Backup Exec 9.0 for Windows Servers agents and
options.

# Update all agents/options on all remote systems.


Is it possible to use this USB-to-SCSI adapter with Backup Exec 9.0?
**check whether the device or drive you are using is supported and tested with BEWS version 9.1 ?
