Any time you change the name of a backup server you have to go into the beutility.exe and change the name in the backup exec database. I not sure if that applies when you add it to a domin though. You could check in the knowledgebase.
I waited on hold for about 45 minutes and they had me do a add/remove programs and do a repair on Backup exec. Then we just ran a few of the automatic updates. It seems to be working fine again. I also have Norton Endpoint installed (Antivirus part only) on this server as well. I'm not sure if this played a part in it or not, but my automatic updates are turned on and I assume it possibly had something to do with this.
When I did the repair it kept all of my jobs and reports so all is well.
