Archive bit not reset in sub folders

ELFT
Level 2

We are using Windows shares instead of installing the remote agent (yes, we are cheap).

Performing a differential or full backup - reset archive bit, correctly identifies and backs up modified files.

The archive bit on files in the share root are reset as expected.

The archive bit is not reset on files in sub folders.

Resetting the archive bits manually is successful.

  • BE 12.5 on Windows 2003
  • Share is Backup$ on Windows 2003
  • Share permissions are full for everyone
  • Backup account is a member of Backup Operators

All suggestions welcome.

Are you backing up via Shares or via RAWS and selecting the volume containing the shares.

- Archive bits probably won't be correcly handed if you are performing share level backups.

They are share level backups. No RAWS loaded on the machine in question.
