Hi,
I have just deployed CPS with BackupExec 12.5. When I want to copy my CPS data to tape for long term archiving which items do I select in the Backup Job on BE? Do I use the snapshots and backup the latest snapshot or do I select items from the Protected Resources option?
I was expecting that as the CPS data is on local disk I should be able to back it up direct to tape without contacting the actual server the data originates from and should get a decent speed but so far I have only managed job rates of around 1500MB/min which seems slow for LTO4. The CPS data is on an iSCSI SAN which will provide throughput of up 120MB/sec in testing.
Cheers

I backup using the same method, and usually get rates over 6000Mb/Min from local disk on our LTO4 autoloader. I would suspect your issue is related to the SAN .

Yep,
use the snapshots and backup the latest snapshot .
Select

snapshots
fileshares
latest snapshot
