Backup Device Suggestions

We were using an Onstream DI-30, and it has apparently just stopped working all together in BackupExec 10 after doing fine for a few months after installation.

Would an external Firewire be a good solution, or would it be good to stick with a tape-based solution?

Thank you for submitting this support query. An external Firewire drive will work with Backup Exec as long as the operating system recognizes it as a drive letter. You can use it as a removable backup to disk folder to perform backups. However, external Firewire drives as tape drives are not supported with Backup Exec 10.0.

I plan on using the FIrewire drives as Lettered Drives, not tape devices.
