Backup Exec 12.5 Devices go missing after installation

I have installed the above product on a windows sbs 2003 server after intial installation the devices are visible but on restrat the devices disappear and i am unable to bring them back even with a reload any suggestions?

Do you see the device in the Windows Device Manager ?

BE will not be able to detect the device if your OS is not able to detect it.

Is your RSM service stopped and disabled?

If you run device confgiguration wizard from BE, is it showing the tape drive?

Even running the device wizard does not show the tape streamer

Make sure the BE Device and Media service is configured with Domain Admin Account.

What about RSM service?

It shoule be stopped and disabled. Otherwise it will take control on secondary stoage devices like tape drives and BE will find difficulties in recognizing those.

Where do i find this as i don't see it in the services?
