Backup Exec 12.5 With exchange 2007 urgent problem

Hi All,

I have install Backup Exec 12.5 on the passive node in exchange 2007 ccr, and through installation process i add the agent licence for exchange, and once i finished the installation, i start the BE to start using it to backup the exchange server but i shocked that there is no information store in the selection list.

note: i have domain admin account and i installed mapi\cdo on the exchange server before installing the backup exec and also i have the latest updates and hotfixes

please anyone can help me; its urgent

Can you post a screen grab of the Selection list you are presented with please?

Try uninstalling the exchange license key and complete the install wizard . Then install the same lincese key again . The selection for exchange has to be made from the virtual node for the exchange .

Also refer the follwing document http://support.veritas.com/docs/308213 which states the following
Check the version of mapi32.dll of the Exchange server.  Verify the version is a 64-Bit version.
The 32-Bit version starts with the number 6.XX, th e64-Bit version starts with the number 1.XX
If 32-Bit version is listed, replace with 64-Bit version which can be found on the Microsoft Exchange 2007 installation disk.
Restart the Remote Agent on Exchange server.  Browse selections list again to see if Information Store is now listed.

i can not see information store even in virtual node

can i install remote agent on  exchange virtual node?

i forget to mention that i didnt install remote agent or mapi\cdo on the actove node

You need to install remote agent  on the active node 1st

u need to install the MAPI cdo on the active server as well . But even if you dont have that installed u should see the information store in the backup selection

Did you tried unisntalling the exchnge license and installing it again

where must i see the information store? in ccr virtual node or in passive node or on the active node?

Its recommended you have the backup exec install on seprate server ( instead of installing it on active or passive node ). On the active and passive node you should have the backup exec remote agent installed . The selection for the Information store has to be made on the virtual node . the active and passive node will not show the information store in the selection . When you configure the backup job you have the option to backup from active or passive node which can set as per your need .
