Backup Exec 2012 R3 backup system state very slow

Hi Guy:
 
i am using windows server 2008r2 for file & ad server.
Using backup Exec 2012 R3 backup to disk for file only, the speed will up to 1800 MB/min.
But if u include the windows system state, it will down to 1xx MB/min only! 
Search internet for solution for long time. but no help! 
 
server 2008R2 w/sp1
backup to a NAS
Both have 1GB ethernet & only 1 NIC 
 
Please help & reply me asap!

Not sure if you meant BE 2010 R3 or 2012. Have you updated all the updates (service packs and hotfixes). Alsom not sure, if this is a local backup or you are backing up a remote server. If this is a remote server, could you ensure that the remote agent is updated as well.

I am assuming you are performing GRT enabled backup of the System State which might be one of the reasons for it to be slow. Having said this, run the B2D test tool to make sure that there are no issues reported. For information about this tool refer to this link.

   Depending on the version of Backup exec please check the following technotes which as hot fixes to resolve this issue.

Hi: I am using windows server 2008r2 standard with sp1. So all the windows update patch was not applied to! Backup Exec 2012 r3! Same, most of the updated was not applied to! Yes, antivirus scan excluse the backupexec hold path with sub folder! No help at all. Wait for symantec to fix these problem asap!! thx Regards Raymond

...most of the updates for Windows and Backup Exec 2010 R3 (NOT BE 2012 R3!) haven't been applied...? Have you considered updating both?
