Backup Exec 2014 - Staging area for GRT enabled backups

Hi.

I know for GRT, you need to have a staging point.

Got four (4) server with the following agents

Server 1 & 2: Agent for Windows

Server 3 & 4: Agent for Application and Database (SQL 2005 & SQL 2008)

Is it possible to restore from tapes directly ?

How to accomplish this, do I need to disable GRT restore ?

Unless these servers are VM's, there is no GRT involved and your can restore them straight from tape

none are VMs. All are phsyical servers.

Question.

1. I can restore directly from tape ?

2. Can I restore a specific file or folder from tape ?

Yes. You can restore individual files/folders straight from tape You can also restore individual SQL databases straight from tape. There is no need for staging
