Backup Exec 2014 can we import and restore a backup created in 12.5?

We have just built a new backup server with Backup Exec 2014 installed to replace our current backup server running Backup Exec 12.5

Can we restore a backup created in 12.5 using Backup Exec 2014 or do we need to keep the old 12.5 server to do restores?

Hi,

there should be no issues with this. just catalog the tape, and then select the correct date range.

Verbatim from the BE 2014 Admin Guide:-

"This version of Backup Exec can read and restore data from any previous version of Backup Exec or Backup
Exec for NetWare, except where Symantec has made end-of-life decisions"
